A Season of Change at St. Michael's

Honoring our Legacy Since 1969

Since 1969, St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School, previously St. Michael School of Clayton, has been a place of growth, faith, and community.

While we celebrate the generations of "Dragons" who have walked these halls, we are entering a new chapter in the life of our school and church.

Important Announcement

After a thorough evaluation of long-term sustainability, the Vestry of The Church of St. Michael & St. George has made the difficult decision to close our K–6 grade program at the conclusion of the current academic year.

While this news is extremely difficult, our priority remains the support of our students, families, and faculty. We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for every child as they find new academic homes where they can continue to thrive.

We want to take a moment to specifically honor our families and staff for their incredible dedication over these last several years. This period has been one of unprecedented transition and constant adaptation. Through every challenge, this community has met uncertainty with grace and a commitment to our students.

It is because of that deep love for our mission that this decision was so difficult. While the K–6 program is ending, the spirit of resilience you have modeled will carry our students forward into their next great adventures.

The Future of our Early Childhood Program

We are pleased to share that our Pre-K and Junior Kindergarten (JK) programs will remain open. These programs will transition to the leadership of our Infant + Toddler Program. This well-established program remains on a stable, growing foundation, and we are fully committed to providing the same level of care and excellence for our youngest Dragons.
