Congratulations to the First and Second graders on wonderful presentations last night!- Schwall
Students worked in groups over a period of weeks to devise questions, hypotheses, materials, procedures, and conclusions. They all were engaged and thoughtful in exploring how meditation affects mind and body functioning. They were motivated to organize their thoughts in a presentable way because they knew they would be presenting to a real and important audience of parents.
What you you need??:
What does all of this make??: CHALK!
The third graders made their own chalk and tested it out today on the playground and it was a SUCCESS!! Here are some photos of before and after. Because it was a new experiment for all of us, we discussed what we could have done to make it better and decided on: bigger cups, less water, more plaster, and more paint!
The sixth graders presented their Chemistry-based science projects this morning to their parents and siblings in the Great Hall. The students dedicated many hours to their research, write-ups, experiments, keynote assembly, and practice. They also were very involved in the preparation for the breakfast foods, in which they made egg casserole, muffins, and cut fresh fruit for their families to enjoy.
