Kindergarten News and Notes for the week of May 29-June 1, 2012
Dear Kindergarten Families,
This is it! We have four days left of Kindergarten! We have a very busy week ahead. Here is the Kindergarten schedule for the next four days:
*Tuesday, May 29th: We don’t have any events planned this day. It will be a regular school day.
*Wednesday, May 30th: The JK/Kindergarten Breakfast is from 8:15 to 9:15am in the Taylor Room.
*Thursday, May 31st: The Kindergarten class party is from 11:30-12:30 in the Kindergarten classroom. We will have a pizza party on Thursday!
*Friday, June 1st: Last day of school!! Full day of school with regular dismissal at 3:30pm. The end of the year school picnic is at Shaw Park from 4 to 8pm at the North Shelter Playground.
I will miss all of you so much!! I wish you a very safe and fun summer!! Ms. Kara
The 6th graders did a great job giving two performances on Wednesday the 23rd - special thanks to MICDS for lending us the costumes and Chloe, a senior at MICDS who devoted her senior project to the 6th grade play, doing costumes, props, and makeup! Congratulations 6th graders!
Casey and other 5th grade Student Legislative Body (SLB) Representatives served chocolate milk to Connor and all students today, in accordance with legislation written by a 3rd grader, Haley, last Fall, which was passed by the SLB and signed into law by Mrs. Mosher. Students enthusiastically use the legislative process to affect real change at school, which is a powerful way to teach participatory democracy!
Wow! I can’t believe it…another school year has gone by!! We have had so many wonderful experiences together and I will miss everybody over the summer!! (Unless your child is attending camp!:)) For those of you who are moving on from SMSOC please be sure to come back and visit!! Thank you so much for sharing your child with me this year! We will try to have a normal as possible week next week but here are a few important reminders.
Monday, May 28th- NO school or adventure club
Wednesday, May 30th- End of the year celebration breakfast! 8:15 in the Taylor Room!
Thursday, May 31st- Bring a bathing suit/towel for our class party! (Please do not send them in their suit since our party is not until the end of the day!)
