5-6-12 First Grade News and Notes

Cinco de Mayo brought many friends and family over to our house to celebrate.  It is really nice to take some time out and plan get-togethers to reconnect with old/new friends both young and old.  I think that this week, my family and I will be eating lots of leftover Mexican food:-/

In first grade we are down to the last month of school.  You will notice in the coming News and Notes that we will be finishing up projects and coordinating with specialists to perfect and enrich our experiences.

Save the Date:  May 30, 2012 at 7:00 PM:  First/Second Grade End of the Year Presentation.  Details to follow soon:)

D.J. is our Shining Star and Sam is our Super Scientist of the week:)

Spanish Class - May 2012

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a Mexican Folklore and by breking a Piñata

On Wednesday, May 2, Eileen Wolfington “L a Morena” a Mexican Folklore artist, taught the Kids five different Mexican dances. Each student participated with enthusiasm in this colorful event.

We also celebrate Cinco de Mayo by braking a Piñata and Latin American dances.

The students were very excited to break the Piñata and to wait for the candy to fall.
