In the afternoon, a spanish dancer came to our school for Cinco de Mayo! The students loved dressing up and dancing to spanish music!

5.2.12 Practicing Speaking Skills Using Actual Lines From A Professional Audition

In performing arts today Ian, Owen, and Avery, and the other 2nd & 1st graders, read aloud lines from a make believe commercial that were used in an audition one of our 3rd graders did last weekend! Students also played the role of camera operator and slate person, and practiced being loud, clear, and expressive.

Look at the websites for The Field Museum and The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.  Be prepared to discuss the museums in Studio on Friday.

5.02.12 - Angels Continue

Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten have created a mobile of angels for the classroom.  The children used paper cones, gold and silver pipe cleaners, cotton, and decorative paper to create angels for the mobile.  The students are also developing their ideas about angels through drawing and small books. - Schwall
