4-22-12 First Grade News and Notes

Party, party, party:)   This weekend, we (my girls and I) have finished the second of our two “Crafty Corners.”   Last week, India and three friends were invited to a “Princess” inspired session and this past Saturday, Ben and two lucky pals walked the plank into a  “Pirate” session.  Be sure to check the blog for pics, activities and fun had by all.

Don’t forget about our LAST swimming session on Thursday.  Kiddos should come to school in their bathing suit along with a towel, goggles and change of clothes.

Math: Math Connects Series Chapter 9: Compare Measurements will start on Thursday.  (Lesson Focus will include: compare areas, order areas,).  The chapter test will be on Wednesday.  Chapter 10, Solve Addition and Subtraction Problems, will begin on Thursday. (Lesson Focus will include doubles).

6th-7th-8th Graders Practicing Survival Skills 4-20-12

The basis of survival skills is learning to relax in the water and exert minimal effort. Students practiced survival floating, treading, back floating, and sculling at the University City High School Natatorium.
