11.16.11, Kindergarten Field Trip: St. Louis Art Museum

This morning, the Kindergarten class traveled to the St. Louis Art Museum. We weren’t allowed to take photos inside, but we did  take pictures outside the museum. Once we went inside, we went and saw the statue of St. Michael from Germany. We discussed St. Michael as a group. Chuck and Kara asked the students questions about what they wonder and what they see. Next to St. Michael’s there was a painting of Mary and angels around her. We talked about the angels and their wings and the impression on their faces.

After we saw the statue, we went and saw Japanese art. The art told a story of Japanese girls getting ready to get married. We then went upstairs and saw some paintings that had angels. The students were very curious about the mummy…but we will have to go back some other time to see that!
