5/22/13 5/6th Kickball outside. Beautiful day for a game of kickball outside with several home runs!

On April 26th, the 5th and 6th grade students finalized designs for their egg drop competition. They were asked to use newspaper and limited amounts of tape to create a design that would protect their raw egg after a drop from the studio window.
The students enjoyed a marvelous field trip to Springfield, IL. The 5th and 6th grade students took the train to Springfield, where they were able to visit a variety of museums and historical sites; including the Old Courthouse, Lincoln’s neighborhood, the Illinois State Museum, the Capitol building, and the Lincoln Museum.
5/1/13 PE: 5th and 6th graders have been working on their map reading skills getting ready for a much anticipated Orienteering Day!

4/24/13, 5/6th Map reading and rock wall. 5th and 6th graders have been reviewing map reading in order to get ready for Orienteering Day and the Forest Park Adventure! They have been using the Legend (key) to find paths, fields, drinking fountains and much more in Forest Park. We also had some fun and climbed the rock wall today.

The students at TSMSOC were able to cheer on the 7th and 8th grade as they participated in an egg drop on Friday.
The 5th and 6th Grade students participated in a bake sale on Friday to earn money towards their trip to Springfield, IL. The students prepared a variety of recipes and also managed the sale.
