Ok, so sometimes I get a bit overzealous in my planning! At times we start and finish projects early and other times we just don’t manage to get to all of the areas I have planned :/ With that said we never got to our lessons on prefixes and suffixes… this one may have to wait until the following week as this next week we are going to be busy with standardized testing! Your second grader will be participating in the OLSAT, this is a test that measures your child’s ability. This is not something they should stress out about! The only thing they can do to prepare for this is to be well rested and to have a nutritional breakfast with some protein.
In Math this week we will begin our unit on measurement. I am thinking this is going to be an easy math week with tons of hands on fun! We are going to discuss the various thing we measure in real life and how we measure them.

We will be working on the middle of the story….. where the problems really heat up.
We will also be working on identifying prefixes and suffixes and in turn learning to define words based on the prefix or suffix.
Daily 5
We will continue with our reading groups, reading independently, reading to others and word work.
